Sensitive Mommy: Gluten Free List {Not Certified Cereals}

  • February 28, 2015

This is part to to my list of 52 Gluten Free Cereals that are certified gluten free.

For more info on what “certified gluten free” means go here or here.

Today I will list the cereals that might- kinda- sorta- be not containing gluten, shelf stable without gluten, or not contain gluten ingredients. This is a glitch in the GF system. To become certified gluten free companies must follow a procedure to be approved from one or more of a few different organizations. Some companies do not certify that their products are gluten free for a variety of reason, but that does not make their products off limits for some people with gluten related sensitivities, or even celiac. But you must eat then at your own risk.

remember I am not a gluten free genius, doctor, nutritionist, or product manufacturer. Read labels for yourself, call companies if you just aren’t sure or are super sensitive. I will list products that are considered gluten free at today’s legal level or do not contain gluten, that is what Captain is comfortable with at this point with celiac disease. I am a mom researching for her kiddo and sharing info with you, I like you, but I don’t know your gluten tolerance. Check for yourself if you are unsure.

Post states that these products contain no gluten ingredients, I called to verify.

  • Fruity Pebbles
  • Poppin’ Pebbles
  • Cocoa Pebbles
  • Dora the Explorer Cinnamon Stars
  • Go Diego Go! Honey Cereal
  • Honey Combs- contain no gluten ingredients but are processed on a line with wheat products of the not-so sensitive gf people only.
  • General Mills

We eat these with no problems, but that is just us.  I have called to verify that if the boxed ingredients are not marked as obtaining gluten it is inherently- free of gluten.

  • Kix
  • Berry Kix
  • Trix
  • Cocoa Puffs
  • Quaker: Quaker does not certify their oat to be gluten free, and oats are listed in their ingredients.
  • Cap’n Crunch
  • Cap’n Crunch’s Sprinkled Donut
  • Cap’n Crunch Oops All Berries
  • Cap’n Crunch Chocolatey
  • Cheerios will be gluten free starting this summer as I am sure you have read or seen. They are not at the time of this post though.

remember This list is NOT Certified Gluten Free cereals, but this list is  52 Gluten Free Cereals
