Gluten Free and Allergy Free Expo in Chicago was phenomenal!

Where can you find over one hundred brands and products specifically designed to be gluten free and many free of the top 8 food allergies?

At the Gluten Free and Allergy Free Expo!

Every year GF & AF []( hits 4 cities to bring great gluten and allergy free products and services to you! This year they will visit MA, NJ, TX, and IL. Want to see them in your city? Vote here.

GF & AF kicked off their tour in Chicagoland this year and I was an official blogger! Captain and I drove the short distance to Schaumburg, Illinois to attend the GF & AF. We were so excited and appreciative to be apart of such a great event. We were so excited to learn about new products, here was our pre-expo post.

6 Vendors we were excited to see:

1. Freedom Foods

I loved them! The tasty cereals with high quality non-GMO ingredients really won us over. Captain was thrilled to discover Tropico’s that are similar to Fruit Loops!  It is great to find a fun gluten free cereal with no GMOs, and artificial colors or flavors. Freedom Foods is so creative by flavoring with natural things like sweet potato extract and gardenia flowers. Freedom Foods are so great I bought full-sized boxes at the GFAF Expo, where they were on sale!

2. Little Me Tea

These are a yummy tea for kids (or mom). We really enjoyed their tea drinks!  I love that they are also gluten free and non-GMO

3. Kinnikinnick

Captain was able to control himself at this vendor because the lines were insane! Kinnikinnick donuts and gluten free treats were swarmed by the masses! I waited in line for 5 minutes to grab Captain his favorite Chocolate K-Kritters. I wish I could have purchased them there, but I could not get through the lines.

4. Smart Flour

Smart Flour was a winner! I love ancient grains! I really enjoyed their pizzas and would be interested in trying their Original Pizza Crusts with our own toppings. Captain couldn’t try their pizzas because they only brought their pre-made pizzas with dairy cheese. I recommended a few stores they were interested in chatting with and I have given product request forms to those grocers. I’m hoping I see Smart Flour Original Pizza Shells soon

5. Sonoma Flat Breads

We never saw them, unfortunately! I was really looking forward to trying their products.

6. Bakery on Main

Great products! Tasty and healthy. I loved their yummy snack mix!

6 Best Surprise Vendors!

1. Bare Belly Organics

I had seen Bare Belly Organics mentioned on various social media accounts, so when I saw them at the GF & AF Expo I was excited.  Sunscreen, diaper cream, and soothing chest rub all made with 100% organic ingredients. All products are gluten free and ideal for sensitive skin. Baby Bee was in need of a soothing diaper cream, so I bought Bare Belly Organics! I will keep you posted on how it works (hint: so good).

2. Sunny’s Korean Kitchen

I am the first to announce that when I go their Kimchi in SMGF I had  no idea what to do with it! I am an adventurous eater, not chef.  Michelle from Sunny’s Kitchen and her mother gave me great tips and info! And a bottle of Korean Teriyaki that is gluten free! I can’t wait to try out my newly learned Korean cooking tips.

3. Massel

Another Australian company that rocks at keeping GMOs out of our food!  Massel was the gracious host of the bloggers at GF& AF Expo. They gave us an awesome gift of their broths and boullion, all are gluten free and vegetarian! Yes, vegetarian beef and chicken! So  cool! I’m very appreciative of their gifts and can’t wait to use them!

4. Coconut Bliss

Loved Coconut Bliss! This coconut ice cream is divine! Creamy, dreamy, and amazing! I can’t wait to buy Coconut Bliss this summer! YUM! I really want to try their peanut butter and chocolate!

5. Nana Creme

This was Captain’s absolute favorite! We loved the fresh taste of this allergy free banana ice cream.

It was so much fun to go to the GF & AF Expo! I hope to see you there next year!
