Ice cream treats are a summertime staple. Blizzard - Tornadoes.- Milk Shakes…. Whatever you like to call them, they are delicious. When you have a child, family member or friend with food allergies and/or celiac disease you can’t just go out and pick one up, just like most other food. Most ice cream shops don’t supply ingredient and can’t keep clean enough to avoid cross contamination. I decided to grab ingredients toake my little sugar bug, Captain, happy. Read More

Necessity breeds creativity. What can you make from carrot, spinach, pear, maple syrup, millet, canola oil, baking powder, potato starch, puffed potato products and turkey? More than you’d think. • July 21, 2015
When I started having children I never once dreamed of the feeding and cooking chaos I endure to feed a preschooler with celiac disease and a toddler with FPIES. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the hand we’ve been dealt, but most of the time I love finding or creating foods my boys love. New and delicious food only tastes better on fun dinnerware. Re-Play sent me a few divided plates and utensils to try out. Read More

Mommy War… Breastfeeding vs. Formula I feel I can speak to this Mommy War, as I have done both, twice. In my opinion (not that you asked for it), both breastfeeding and formula feeding are phenomenal choices, you really can’t damage your beautiful children doing either, or both. Both option provide nutrition to your baby, so please stop spouting off about the superiority of one or the other. For the Breastfeeding Haters: Read More

Sensitive Mommy: MOM {Kiss Freely}

  • March 14, 2015
So I was scrolling through random searches on Google one long FPIES night and found Kiss Freely. Imagine that, me trolling the internet at night with a cranky food-failing baby… #FPIESsucks I am not a make-up or cosmetics kinda-girl. You wont’s find a lot of selfies, outfit photos or fashion chatting on my Instagram. So I am not even sure how my sleep deprived fingers got to the Kiss Freely homepage, but when I read the “Our Story” page from the founder Jennifer Kurko I knew I needed to contact her. Read More

This is part to to my list of 52 Gluten Free Cereals that are certified gluten free. For more info on what “certified gluten free” means go here or here. Today I will list the cereals that might- kinda- sorta- be not containing gluten, shelf stable without gluten, or not contain gluten ingredients. This is a glitch in the GF system. To become certified gluten free companies must follow a procedure to be approved from one or more of a few different organizations. Read More

Sometimes a snack or breakfast needs to be more. More wholesome, more filling, more powerful, and/or healthier. Kid_ and Mom Smoothies_ help us fill the more zone of healthy eating and helping Captain gain weight when he needs to.
